When looking at a meeting schedule each meeting will list the type of meeting, the format and other specializations in some instances.
There are 2 types of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings:
OPEN meetings are available to anyone interested in the Alcoholics Anonymous program of recovery from alcoholism.
CLOSED meetings are for AA members ONLY, or those who have a problem with alcohol and “have a desire to stop drinking.”
Formats can be the same every meeting or change based on the day or week of the month. Some common formats are:

Specialized Meetings can be for different populations (ex: men only, women only, Spanish speaking or LGBTQIA+ friendly) or list a special environment (ex: candlelight or campfire meetings) so attendees are prepared.
